Appalachian Deck Company is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. If you have a strong background in residential construction—especially deck building—and the skills to lead a crew, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of deck and outdoor construction, including staging materials, excavation, footing installation, general carpentry, and material take-offs.
  • Maintain site cleanliness, load/unload tools and materials, and ensure proper tool maintenance.
  • Supervise field crew and ensure quality control throughout each project.
  • Manage customer relations and address on-site concerns professionally.
  • Purchase materials and small tools as needed.
  • Attend weekly production meetings to discuss project progress and planning.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in all aspects of residential construction, with a focus on deck construction.
  • Ability to manage on-site project organization, execution, and completion.
  • Experience overseeing multiple employees and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of cost control, safety regulations, building codes, and blueprint reading.
  • Strong math skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
